Day 1:
  • Morning:
    Arrive in Puerto Maldonado and transfer to your lodge, possibly by boat along the Madre de Dios River.
    Afternoon:
    Embark on a guided walk through the jungle, perhaps visiting a botanical garden or a place for caiman spottin.
    Evening:
    Enjoy a night trail walk to observe nocturnal wildlife, like caiman or nocturnal mammals.
     
    Day 2:
    • Morning:
      Hike to Sandoval Lake, an oxbow lake within the Tambopata National Reserve.
      Afternoon :
      Take a canoe trip on Sandoval Lake to observe wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and other animals.
      Evening :
      Enjoy dinner at the lodge and potentially another night walk, or explore the lodge’s facilities like an eco-center or canopy walkway.

Arrival at Puerto Maldonado – Rainforest Garden – Rainforest by Night

Puerto Maldonado, is located on the southeastern part of Perú, lying at the confluence of two rivers, ‘Madre de Dios’ and the very known ‘Tambopata’. Named like that because of a Spanish explorer Don Pedro Maldonado. Almost all the local transportation reduces to boats. From here is where you can arrive by flight.

Day 1

We´ll meet at 08:00am at our office for the registration, then we will go to Puerto Capitanía to board a boat. We will travel along the Madre de Dios River until we reach the Paradise Canopy Aventura facilities for a time of 40 min. After meeting our staff and leaving the luggage at the Paradise Canopy Adventure hostel, we will go to our adventure center.

  • CANOPY.- Walk through the forest until you reach the canopy bridge, since during the day there is the possibility of seeing a variety of birds in addition to the fabulous natural landscape on the trees. The guide will explain about the fauna and flora of the place.
  • LUNCH.-  After a comforting lunch you can rest or take a nap in the hammocks. Then we will be ready for our next adventure.
  • MONKEY ISLAND.- In front of our adventure center there is an island where there is a group of monkeys that are used to humans. That is why it is possible to get close to them, feed them and see their coexistence between different species. It is a beautiful experience with these funny little animals.
  • 4:00 p.m. Back to your selected hotel lodge
  • 6:00 p.m. Night walk.
  • After a rest we will take a tour of our trail, as we call a path that we have in constant maintenance inside the forest where we can observe the nocturnal fauna; birds, insects, amphibians.

AM Sandoval Lake Tour – PM the Canopy Walkway – Night Hike

SANDOVAL LAKE GUIDED TOUR AND CANOPY WALK

In the morning, we navigate the Madre de Dios River until we reach the pier and control of the Tambopata National Reserve. Enjoy a 40-minute walk, “3 km,” exploring the primary Amazonian vegetation with abundant wildlife.

On the shores of Sandoval Lake, we board a small wooden-carved boat to paddle across the lake in search of attractive giant river otters and spot various birds in their natural habitat.

PM RAINFOREST CANOPY BRIDGES EXPERIENCE

A short walk to Canopy Bridge lets you watch a fantastic variety of birds with spectacular scenery in and around the treetops. The guided tour of the canopy walk lasts approximately 2 hours. There is the alternative of walking a little deeper along one of the trails in search of more vegetation.

Day 3

Visit a Native Community and Jungle Excursion

VISIT an Amazon National NATIVE COMMUNITY

In the morning, explore by visiting the customs and traditions of the natives who reside within the Tambopata National Reserve. Learn from the natives the ancient hunting, gathering, survival, and camouflage techniques within the jungle. The natives sell local souvenirs, which supports the native family economy.

RUSTIC FISHING

In the afternoon, experience rustic fishing to catch fish such as catfish, damsels, sardines, or piranhas.

NIGHT WALK THROUGH THE AMAZON

a brief nocturnal exploration of the sounds of nature, exploring one of the trails of the ecolodge to have a unique experience visiting the Amazon jungle in southern Peru.

At Dawn Tour to the Parrot Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado Out

Activity Duration: 2 hours. At dawn, we set sail with our boat through the waters of Madre de Dios towards the parrot clay lick. Strategically, at a prudent distance, we place the jungle boat to see the morning show of the varieties of parrots and macaws in their free will.
